This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect the personal information you share with us when you visit our website, register for sessions, interact with our Happiness Hubs, or contact us. We are committed to operating with transparency, ethical intent, and legal compliance under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Who We Are

2 Be Happy is a sub-brand (unit) of Mr & Mrs Happiness Initiatives, a social wellness enterprise founded with a mission to help individuals transition from stress and survival to a meaningful, joyful, and purposeful life. Primary ownership and all legal, financial, and operational responsibilities rest with Mrs. Santana Jha Kolay, Founder.

We operate a virtual community platform consisting of ten specialised Happiness Hubs, individual mentorship sessions (Mood Booster), group wellness forums, and educational resources. Our services are delivered digitally via our website, WhatsApp, and virtual meeting platforms. Our enterprise is registered under the MSME scheme, Government of India (Udyam Registration No. UDYAM-JH-20-0134252).

Our Intent: We are a passion-driven social initiative. We do not sell data, we do not run advertisements, and we do not profit from your personal information. Every piece of information you share with us exists solely to serve your wellness journey.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to welcome you into our community and provide a meaningful, personalised experience. We collect in two ways:

a) Information You Provide Voluntarily:

Your Name — so we may address you with dignity and warmth
WhatsApp Number or Email Address — to reach you for session scheduling and community updates
Your Age — to place you in the most suitable Happiness Hub for your life stage
Your District / City — to understand our community's geographic reach and local context
Your Interest Area — which Hub or programme you are enquiring about
Personal disclosures during sessions — voluntarily shared during Mood Booster or group sessions

b) Information Collected Automatically:

Browser and device type — for website optimisation purposes
Pages visited, time spent and time idle — to understand how to improve our platform
Approximate geographic location — from your IP address, at city or region level only
How you interact with a page — how far you scrolled, roughly where on the page you clicked, whether you clicked repeatedly in frustration, and whether you moved to leave the page
How far you got in our registration form — whether you opened it, which field you reached, and whether you completed or abandoned it, so we can find and fix the places where people get stuck
Whether you have visited before — stored in your own browser, not on our servers
Your browser's user-agent string — recorded only if you submit the registration form, as part of the record proving what consent notice you were shown
A random session identifier — to group the above into a single visit. See Section 7 for what happens to it if you register

We collect the interaction data above to improve the website, not to judge or profile you. We are a small family-run initiative and this is the only way we can tell which pages are confusing or where our form is losing people.

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as financial account information, Aadhaar numbers, medical records, or government-issued identity documents unless you choose to share them directly for a specific, stated purpose.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively for the following ethical and transparent purposes:

Community Onboarding: To reach out after your enquiry and schedule your two free introductory sessions
Hub Placement: To match you with the Happiness Hub best suited to your life stage, goals, and interests
Session Scheduling & Communication: To send reminders, updates, and programme details via WhatsApp or email
Personalised Support: To give mentors context for relevant, empathetic guidance during Mood Booster sessions
Community Growth: Website usage data — mostly looked at in aggregate — to understand our reach, see which pages help people and which confuse them, and improve our services. See Section 7 for exactly what is recorded and when it can be linked to you
Legal Compliance: To maintain records as required under applicable Indian laws

We will NEVER use your information to:

Send unsolicited spam or commercial messages unrelated to 2 Be Happy
Sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party — ever
Profile you for advertising or commercial targeting of any kind
Share your personal disclosures from sessions with any unauthorised person

How We Protect Your Data

The security of your personal information is a matter of deep responsibility. We take the following steps to safeguard your data:

Enquiry data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), a managed database service operated by Google, protected by access rules and reachable only by authorised administrators of Mr & Mrs Happiness Initiatives. Because Google operates this service, your data may be stored or processed on servers outside India
Session-related personal disclosures are treated with strict confidentiality — never shared outside the core facilitation team
Our website uses HTTPS (SSL encryption) to protect data transmitted between your browser and our server
We conduct periodic reviews of our data-handling practices for continued compliance and security
Access to member data is granted only on a need-to-know basis within our small, trusted team
How long we keep your data: website analytics records for up to 26 months; enquiry and registration records for as long as you are part of our community and up to three years after your last contact with us; consent records for as long as we hold the data they relate to, since they are the proof of what you agreed to. You may ask us to delete your data sooner at any time

While we implement all reasonable safeguards, no system is fully immune to risk. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we commit to informing you promptly, notifying the Data Protection Board of India as required, and taking all corrective action.

Do We Share Your Data?

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data with any external company, advertiser, marketing agency, or data broker — ever. We are not funded by advertisers and have no commercial incentive to share your information.

We may share data only in the following strictly limited and lawful circumstances:

Internal Team Members: With trained mentors or co-facilitators who require it solely to deliver your session or service
Legal Obligation: When required by a court order, government authority, or applicable Indian law
Your Explicit Consent: If you separately and clearly authorise us for a specific stated purpose (e.g., referral to a professional therapist)

Community & Session Confidentiality

Our Happiness Hubs and Mood Booster sessions are safe, confidential spaces. What is shared within a session must stay within that session. This is not merely a policy — it is the ethical foundation of everything we do.

By joining any session or Happiness Hub, every member agrees to:

Not record, photograph, or screenshot any session without the explicit written consent of all participants and the facilitator
Not share, discuss, or disclose the personal stories or opinions expressed by other members outside the group
Treat all personal information shared in sessions by fellow members as strictly private and confidential
Not use the platform for solicitation, spam, or any activity unrelated to the community's wellness purpose

Breach of this confidentiality obligation may result in immediate removal from the community and, where appropriate, legal action under applicable law.

Cookies & Website Analytics

We want to be precise here, because a vague answer would not be honest. Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for two purposes only: keeping your browsing session working, and understanding how people actually use the site so we can improve it. We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or selling your attention.

Session cookies: Temporary, expire when you close your browser, used to keep your session working
Google Analytics (GA4): Provided by Google, this records which pages you visit, how long you stay, your device and browser type, your approximate location from your IP address, and the website or search that sent you to us
Our own website analytics: Stored in our Google Firebase database, this records a random session identifier, the pages you viewed, time spent and time idle, how far down a page you scrolled, roughly where on a page you clicked, whether you opened our registration form and how far through it you got, and whether you clicked our WhatsApp button

Two things we want to state plainly rather than bury:

First, if you complete our registration form, the random session identifier attached to your browsing activity is also saved with your registration record. That means your browsing activity on this site can be connected to you by name. We use this only to understand how people find and join us — never to build an advertising profile, and never to share with anyone.

Second, if you never register, we have no way of knowing who you are. The session identifier is random, and it is not linked to any name, number, or email address.

Our website is entirely ad-free. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Your attention is never sold to any advertiser.

Children's Privacy

Our primary community is designed for adults (18 years and above). However, we do operate the Junior Sparklers Hub — specifically designed for children and young people under 18.

For participants under 18 years of age, we require the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian before collecting any personal information or admitting them to any session.

Parents or guardians have the full right to:

Review the personal information we hold about their child at any time
Request correction or deletion of their child's data without penalty
Withdraw consent for participation at any time, with no questions asked

Your Rights

As a member or visitor of 2 Be Happy, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data, consistent with applicable Indian law:

Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Right to Correction: You may ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete information
Right to Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations
Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent to receive communications from us at any time
Right to Raise a Grievance: If you believe your data has been mishandled, you may raise a formal complaint with us directly
Right to Nominate: You may nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to do so yourself

We will respond to all data-related requests within 30 calendar days. To exercise any of these rights, contact us directly via WhatsApp or phone (details at the bottom of this page).

As our community grows and as India's data protection laws evolve (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), we may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify active community members of material changes through WhatsApp or email communication.

The "Effective Date" at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of our platform after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, specifically including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025 (notified 13 November 2025, with full compliance required by 13 May 2027), together with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

Subject to applicable law, any disputes arising from this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Jharkhand, India.
